| OPERA - The Objective Perceptual
Analyzer setting the Standards Comprehensive,
end-to-end quality analysis based on perceptual measurement
OPTICOM's new generation of
OPERA voice and audio quality analyzers represent the latest development to
objectively evaluate and assure the quality of compressed speech and wide-band audio
signals, based on modeling the human ear. With OPERA you can achieve a comprehensive
analysis of the end-to-end quality of current and next generation networks, such as VoIP,
xDSL, ISDN, GSM, POTS, from the caller to the callee. Or you can test the audio quality of
MP3, AAC, AC3, MS Audio from the studio source to the receiver, or from the server to the
client. OPERAs comprehensive scalability may range from a single stand alone tester
to powerful network-wide setups with distributed systems, remotely controlled over IP.
The open framework concept of OPERA allows
for the fastest updates of advanced measurements, such as PESQ - the new ITU-T rec. P.862
[2001] simply as a plug-in. Also future upates will be just plug-ins as soon as
they will become available. User defined measurement algorithms may also be integrated
upon request. Besides many configurations of completely pre-installed portable analyers,
OPERA is also available as a software suite with restricted functionality. The
operating system currently supported is Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Win 2000 will follow. |

| CRC-SEAQ A software for the subjective and objective evaluation of
audio quality
CRC-SEAQ (System for the Evaluation of Audio
Quality) is a Windows 95/98/2000/NT software package for the subjective and/or objective
evaluation of the quality of audio signals, including speech. With its intuitive graphical
user interfaces, CRC-SEAQ provides an environment and comprehensive set of tools
for users developing or evaluating audio technologies, products and equipment and who want
to accurately measure audio quality. The system was developed by researchers at the
Communications Research Centre, in Ottawa, Canada, who have been involved in the
development of subjective and objective methods for audio quality measurements for many
years. CRC-SEAQ can be configured to include a Subjective Test Module and/or an
Objective Test Module. The Objective Test Module is an implementation of the ITU-R PEAQ
(Rec. BS-1387) method for measuring audio quality objectively.
CRC-TimeSync, a companion program for time synchronizing audio files, can also be
included as a module in CRC-SEAQ or licensed separately. |
